About Our Home
Il Carro Comfortable Rooms is a welcoming guesthouse nestled in the heart of San Giovanni Gemini, a charming town in the province of Agrigento, Sicily. More than just a place to stay, it offers guests a deep connection to the local culture and traditions—especially the town’s most cherished event, the Festa di Gesù di Nazareth. First recorded in 1677, this is one of Sicily’s oldest and most beloved festivals.
The name “Il Carro” pays tribute to the festival’s most iconic symbol: the Carro Trionfale—a majestic wooden structure over 22 meters tall. This handcrafted cart is the heart of the celebration, paraded along Corso Francesco Crispi in a spectacular display of devotion and craftsmanship.
Each room at Il Carro is named after a part of the Carro Trionfale—such as La Cupola, Il Palchetto, Il Timone, and La Ruota—creating a distinctive atmosphere where tradition meets comfort. Thoughtfully designed, all rooms feature modern amenities including free Wi-Fi, en-suite bathrooms, private balconies, and access to a shared lounge area.
